Agreement and eligibility
These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and Afreeket when you browse our website, create an account, buy or transfer a ticket, publish an event, use our check-in tools, or otherwise use the platform. Our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy are incorporated into these terms.
You must be able to enter a legally binding contract in your country. If you use Afreeket for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. A parent or guardian must supervise a minor’s use and any purchase made for a minor.
Afreeket’s role
Afreeket provides technology that helps independent organisers list events, sell tickets, communicate with attendees, validate entry and manage related services. Unless an event page clearly says otherwise, the organiser—not Afreeket—creates, owns and operates the event and is responsible for its content, venue, safety, accessibility, schedule and delivery.
- A ticket is a revocable licence to attend the event, subject to the organiser’s published rules and lawful venue requirements.
- Event descriptions, age restrictions, line-ups, seating, accessibility information and organiser policies are supplied by the organiser.
- Afreeket may facilitate payments, notices and refunds, but doing so does not make Afreeket the event organiser, performer, venue or insurer.
Accounts and security
- Provide accurate, current information and keep it updated.
- Keep your password, passcodes and devices secure; do not share access or impersonate another person.
- Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access or a compromised ticket QR code.
- You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.
- We may require identity, business or payment verification before enabling sensitive features or releasing funds.
Ticket purchases and entry
Before you pay
- Review the event date, time, location, ticket type, quantity, price, fees, currency, age limits and refund terms shown at checkout.
- Prices and availability may change until payment is successfully completed. A pending payment does not guarantee inventory.
- You authorise the displayed charge when you confirm an order. Your mobile-money, bank or card provider may apply separate charges or conversion rates.
Ticket delivery and use
- A valid ticket is normally delivered electronically after payment confirmation. Check your account and email, including spam folders.
- Each QR code is unique and generally permits the number of admissions stated on the ticket. The first valid scan may invalidate later copies.
- Do not publish or share a QR code. Unauthorised duplication, resale, alteration or use may result in cancellation or refused entry.
- Bring any identification, proof of age or original payment evidence required on the event page.
Organiser responsibilities
An organiser using Afreeket agrees to operate professionally, lawfully and transparently.
- Provide complete, accurate event and ticket information, including all material restrictions, taxes, fees, capacity limits and refund terms.
- Obtain and maintain the venue rights, licences, permits, insurance, approvals and consents required for the event.
- Deliver the advertised event, manage admissions and accessibility, and maintain appropriate safety, safeguarding and emergency arrangements.
- Use attendee information only for the event and other clearly disclosed lawful purposes, and protect it under applicable data-protection law.
- Respond promptly to attendees and cooperate with disputes, refunds, chargebacks, fraud reviews and regulatory enquiries.
- Not list unlawful, misleading, infringing, unsafe or discriminatory events or content.
Fees, taxes and organiser payouts
Fees payable by a buyer or organiser are disclosed through the relevant checkout, pricing page or commercial agreement. Unless stated otherwise, amounts are shown in the checkout currency and may include or exclude applicable taxes as displayed.
Organiser proceeds may be held until identity checks, event completion, refund exposure and fraud or chargeback reviews are satisfied. We may deduct agreed platform fees, payment-processing costs, approved refunds, chargebacks, reversals, taxes we must withhold and other amounts validly owed under these terms.
- Organisers are responsible for determining and meeting their own tax, invoicing and reporting obligations.
- Payout timing can be affected by weekends, public holidays, banking networks, incomplete verification, disputes or legal requirements.
- Afreeket may establish a reasonable reserve or delay a payout where necessary to protect attendees or address likely refunds, fraud or chargebacks.
Event changes, cancellations and refunds
Refund eligibility is governed by the Refund Policy, the event-specific policy shown before purchase and applicable law. Organisers must promptly notify Afreeket of a cancellation, postponement, venue change or other material change.
A line-up, supporting act, session order or minor timing change may not automatically qualify for a refund unless the event policy or applicable law says otherwise. Your statutory rights are not limited by these terms.
Acceptable use
- Do not break the law, infringe rights, harass others or upload malicious, deceptive or harmful content.
- Do not scrape, probe, overload, reverse engineer, bypass security, automate purchases unfairly or interfere with platform operation.
- Do not manipulate ticket inventory, reviews, referrals, rankings, prices, payments, scans or payouts.
- Do not use Afreeket for money laundering, fraud, sanctions evasion, unauthorised resale or any prohibited transaction.
- Do not copy or commercially exploit Afreeket branding, software or content without written permission.
Content and intellectual property
Afreeket and its licensors own the platform, software, visual design, trademarks and original content. We give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose.
You keep ownership of content you submit. You grant Afreeket a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, format, display and distribute that content as needed to operate, market and improve the platform and the relevant event. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to grant that licence.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using Afreeket at any time and may request account deactivation, subject to unresolved orders, payouts, disputes and record-retention duties. We may restrict, suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, protect users, prevent fraud, comply with law or respond to a serious operational or security risk.
Where practical and lawful, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue. Provisions that by their nature should continue—including payment duties, licences, disclaimers, liability limits and dispute terms—survive termination.
Disclaimers and liability
We provide the platform with reasonable care and aim for reliable availability, but no online service is uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the platform is provided on an “as available” basis and we do not guarantee that every event, organiser, attendee or third-party service will meet your expectations.
Afreeket is not responsible for losses caused solely by an organiser’s event delivery, a venue, performer, attendee, telecom or payment provider, force-majeure event, or your failure to follow published instructions, except where the loss results from our own breach, negligence, fraud or other liability that law does not allow us to exclude.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer rights. Where liability may lawfully be limited, it will be limited to reasonably foreseeable direct loss connected with the affected transaction.
Complaints, governing law and disputes
Contact support@afreeket.com first with your order or event reference and a clear description of the issue. We will try to resolve complaints fairly and may ask the organiser or payment provider for relevant information.
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, without taking away mandatory protections you may have where you live. The courts of Kenya have jurisdiction, although the parties may first agree to good-faith negotiation or another lawful dispute-resolution process.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms to reflect product, legal or operational changes. We will post the revised version and update the date above; material changes may also be communicated through the platform or your registered contact details. Continued use after the effective date means the revised terms apply to future use.
Questions about these terms can be sent to support@afreeket.com or Afreeket, Nairobi, Kenya.
